Tarun Chugh said, do not give foreign color to J&K

Jammu, 14 July: Political rhetoric regarding the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir has intensified. The Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed strong objection to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah sharing an alleged fake and satirical post in the name of US President Donald Trump. BJP’s national general secretary and Jammu and Kashmir in-charge Tarun Chugh, while targeting Omar Abdullah, said that the attempt to give an international color to the issue of Jammu and Kashmir by linking it with the names of foreign leaders is unfortunate. Tarun Chugh said that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and all decisions related to it are taken under the Constitution of India and the democratic process. He said that the Central Government has already expressed its commitment to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP leader said that after the removal of Article 370, many changes have been seen in the fields of development, tourism, democracy and good governance in Jammu and Kashmir. He claimed that due to the policies of the Central Government, a new era of peace and development has started in the state. Chugh said that some political parties are trying to divert public attention from real issues. He appealed to the opposition leaders to accept the changed reality of Jammu and Kashmir and cooperate in the development of the state. In fact, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had shared a sarcastic post related to the name of Donald Trump on the social media platform on Monday. Through this post, he attacked BJP on the issue of state status of Jammu and Kashmir. This post of Omar Abdullah has come at a time when his party National Conference is preparing to intensify its protests demanding statehood. The National Conference has been demanding restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir for a long time. The party says that restoration of statehood is an issue related to the political and constitutional aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, BJP says that the Central Government has already made its stand clear on this issue and statehood will be restored at the appropriate time. Party leaders allege that the opposition is using this issue for political gains. After Omar Abdullah’s post and Tarun Chugh’s statement, a new controversy has arisen in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. The round of allegations and counter-allegations continues between the two parties. This issue may gain more momentum in the coming days, as the National Conference is preparing for a movement demanding statehood. The issue of statehood remains one of the most prominent political issues for the government formed after the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Now the focus is on what further steps the central government takes in this matter and how the opposition takes it forward.
