New Delhi (IANS) | A tailor was murdered on Thursday in Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area. A police official said that the accused has been arrested. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Shivnath of Old Seelampur locality.
The officer said that a person was killed with a sharp weapon at Gandhi Nagar police station at 1.36 am.
Shivnath was taken to the hospital where he was declared brought dead, he said. There were sharp weapon wounds on his neck.
During interrogation, accused Rohit, a resident of the same locality, disclosed that he was in love with a woman for the last two years.
A few days ago, the families of both the woman and Rohit were not ready for the marriage, the officer said. Since then he was in depression.
When Shivnath came to stay with Rohit, he assumed that he had been sent by the woman’s family to see whether he was talking with the girl or not, the officer said. Enraged, he decides to kill Shivnath. The knife used for the crime has also been recovered from the accused.
