Suryapet: Police arrested two people and seized 25 kg of ganja near NTR Park in the city on Thursday. Another man, who had links to a marijuana smuggling ring, escaped from the police. Those arrested include Charkonda Prakash (28) of Vatavarlapalli in Nagarkurnool district and Thalla Sumanth (33) of Miryalaguda. Another mobile marihuana vendor, Dasangam Bhargava Rao, escaped from the police. Additional Deputy M Nageswara Rao, presenting the arrested street vendors of marijuana at a press conference here, said the police reviewed two autos parked at NTR Park at 10:30 am on Thursday. Police found one kilogram of ganja from a car with number TS07FV6789 and twenty-four kilograms of ganja from another car with number TS08EA1233. Prakash and Sumanth Reddy were friends for the last five years and Sumanth had a habit of consuming marijuana. Inspired by Sumanth, Prakash started cultivating hemp in his agricultural fields in Vaatavarlapalli in June to earn easy money. After cutting the ganja, Prakash and Sumanth took the ganja in two autos to Suryapet, which was repaired by Bhargav Ram of Hyderabad. Said that they are trying to arrest Bhargav Ram.
