Sundargarh: Pickup van overturns, 1 dead and 20 injured

Sundergarh: In a tragic incident, a pickup van overturned in Odisha’s Sundergarh district on Friday. According to reliable reports, the pickup van overturned near Gulatha village under Bhasma police station as the driver allegedly lost control on the wheels.

Due to this, one person died on the spot and more than 20 people were seriously injured. It is reported that the van was carrying some people of a sankirtan (bhajan) party from Jharsuguda to Sundergarh when the incident occurred.

Local people and police reached the spot and rescued the people and admitted them to a nearby hospital. The deceased has not been identified yet. Police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
