Assembly elections: 5,574 special buses to run from April 21-23

Tamil Nadu: The Government Express Transport Corporation has announced that 5,574 special buses will be operated on April 21, 22, and 23 to facilitate voters’ travel to their hometowns to cast their votes in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
From Chennai, 1,404 special buses will operate on April 21, along with 2,092 daily buses, 3,570 special buses will operate on April 22, and 600 special buses will operate on April 23, along with 905 daily buses.
- Buses will operate from the Pugar Bus Stand in Klumpakkam to Puducherry, Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Trichy, Madurai, Thoothukudi, Sengottai, Tirunelveli, Salem, Coimbatore, Kumbakonam, and Thanjavur.
*Buses will operate from the Kalampakkam Mangar Bus Stand on the Vandavasi, Pulu, and Tiruvannamalai routes.
- Buses will operate from the Koyambedu Bus Stand on the Eastern Coastal Region (ECR), Kanchipuram, Vellore, Bengaluru, and Tiruttani routes. *Buses bound for Andhra Pradesh via Ponneri and Uthukottai, as well as regular buses bound for Trichy, Salem, Kumbakonam, and Tiruvannamalai, will operate from the new Madavaram Bus Stand.
Reservation Facility: To travel on special buses, you can make reservations through the existing Tilsri app and the website jjj.tilsri.ny. This will help you avoid last-minute rush.
24-Hour Control Room: Passengers can contact the mobile number 9445014436 to check bus movements and register any complaints. Additionally, for the well-being of passengers, 24-hour control rooms have been opened at the Koyambedu and Klumpakkam bus stands. Passengers can use them.
Connecting Buses: For the convenience of the public, the Municipal Transport Corporation will operate 24-hour connecting buses from the Koyambedu bus stand to the Klumpakkam and Pugar bus stands, and the Madhavaram bus stand, according to a press release issued by R. Mohan, Managing Director of the State Rapid Transport Corporation.
