Sub-inspector arrested red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 75,000

Muzaffarpur. The team of Patna, headquarters of Vigilance Investigation Bureau, on Tuesday arrested Sub-Inspector of Police Roshan Kumar Singh posted at Saraiya police station in Muzaffarpur red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 75,000. It was told that Awadhesh Kumar Singh, a resident of Basantpur of Saraiya police station area, had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Investigation Bureau on January 27 that Sub-Inspector of Police Roshan Singh of Saraiya was demanding a bribe of Rs 75,000 for writing a diary in police station case number 525/2020. After verification of this information, the Bureau registered the above case after the allegations were found to be true in the initial investigation and formed a raid team under the leadership of investigator and Deputy Superintendent of Police Satyendra Ram.
After this, as per the scheduled time, on Tuesday, as soon as the complainant was giving Rs 75,000 as bribe to Police Sub Inspector Singh near the State Gandhi Janaki Higher Secondary School of Bhatouna, the Bureau team arrested the police officer. It was told that the Bureau team is interrogating the accused. This is the sixth FIR registered against corruption in the year 2025 by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau. This is the fourth trap of this year, in which the case has been registered and the accused have been arrested red handed. Earlier on February 6, the Bureau team arrested Police Sub Inspector Ranjeet Kumar Singh posted at Rupaspur police station in Patna while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000.
