Students turned out to be ganja smugglers, 5 arrested, goods worth lakhs recovered

Noida: Students of the country’s famous Amity and Delhi University are once again in the news. Noida Police has caught their students red handed while smuggling ganja. These students are from good families. They are accused of supplying narcotics near all the famous colleges and schools of Noida-NCR. Police have recovered goods worth about Rs 10 lakh from the accused.

On Saturday, the police arrested five students and sent them to jail. This matter is of Kotwali 126 area. The arrested accused used to sell ganja through the app and used to deliver it to the people through courier company. Even before this, the police had caught Amity University students smuggling ganja and sent them to jail. Even after this, the police were continuously receiving complaints of ganja smuggling that some drug smugglers have made university students a part of their gang and with their help they supply drugs inside the university.

Based on this input the police laid a trap. The intention of the police was to wipe out this gang. Instead of haste, work was done with patience. Eventually the police succeeded and 5 members of the gang were arrested.

ADCP Manish Mishra said that OG is a foreign ganja, which is much more intoxicating than Indian ganja. There is a lot of demand for it. The accused have been arrested while smuggling it. It was sold near renowned schools and colleges. For this, these people use social media platforms like Snapchat, Telegram and WhatsApp. The narcotic substance was packed in Amazon and Flipkart wrappers and sent to the buyer. The accused had hired a rider to supply. His office is in Sector-49 Baraula. Which has been sealed.

He said that the accused have been identified as Sagar, Nishant, Sachin Kumar, Harsh Jha and Chetan Adalka. Out of these, Harsh and Sachin are IT students. Chetan is a fourth year student at Amity University. Sagar has done B.Com from Delhi University. Nishant used to work as a rider while supplying ganja. About 12 kg of ganja has been recovered from them. Police are searching for their other absconding associates. Soon he will also be arrested.
