Student dies, getting treatment from a quack doctor proved costly in Chhattisgarh!

Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi: A school girl lost her life in the district due to quackery of a teacher. An FIR has been lodged against the accused teacher in this case, but no action has been taken by the education department yet.

The incident took place in Bahrijhorkhi village of Marwahi, where a student studying in class VIII suddenly fell ill. The family took her to teacher Pradeep Jaiswal, who lives in the nearby Nimdha village, for treatment. Pradeep Jaiswal is a primary teacher in a government school, but along with this he also runs a private clinic and calls himself a doctor.

Pradeep Jaiswal gave a bottle of glucose to the student and gave some medicines. After taking the medicines, the condition of the student worsened, due to which her worried parents immediately took her to the Community Health Center Marwahi. But, the student died as soon as she reached there.

After this incident, there was a lot of anger among the local people. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the district administration sealed Varsha Jaiswal Medical and Clinic. The postmortem report has confirmed that the student died due to wrong treatment. Dr. Hariom Gupta, who conducted the postmortem, said that the student’s condition deteriorated due to the adverse effects of the medicines given to her. He said that clinical examination revealed that the amount of blood in her eyes, tongue, and nails was very low. The student had a reaction to Meritol 100 MG and IV Fluid DNS 500 injection. These medicines increase the risk of hema dilution in case of anemia. Jaiswal had started the treatment without proper investigation.

An FIR has been lodged against the accused teacher Pradeep Jaiswal, but the teacher has not yet been able to take action.
