Big relief for Allu Arjun.. Delhi High Court’s sensational verdict on personality rights!

Iconic star Allu Arjun got a huge relief in the Delhi High Court. A bench of Justice Tushar Rao Gedela gave a crucial verdict on a petition filed by him, strongly opposing the use of his name, photos, voice and unique gestures for commercial purposes without his permission. The court made it clear that Allu Arjun’s name, voice, signature dialogues and elements related to his style are his personal property and he alone will have complete ‘personality rights’ over them. The court issued clear orders that videos, voice notes or any other content should not be created without his permission, especially using the currently growing artificial intelligence (AI) and deepfake technology.
In addition, it has imposed an interim stay on the sale of goods with Allu Arjun’s photos or the use of his identity for advertisements on e-commerce websites. It has also ordered the relevant social media companies to identify indecent memes and morphing videos that are damaging his image on social media and remove them from the internet within 72 hours. While his lawyers have argued that some mobile apps and websites are misleading people by spreading false propaganda in the name of Allu Arjun, the court cited its previous judgments in the case of top actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth.
