Rajnandgaon. Current SP Mohit Garg of Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh will be awarded the President’s Police Gallantry Medal. He had killed 10 Naxalites in an encounter in Bijapur district in 2019. For which he will be awarded by the Governor on 26th January. During the posting of Superintendent of Police in Bijapur, a team of DRG and STF had gone on a joint operation under his leadership in the forest of Bodga under Bhairamgarh police station area. On 7 February 2019, 10 Maoists, including 5 men and 5 women, were killed in an encounter between police and Maoists near Bodga Nala. The police was also successful in recovering explosives including 11 country-made guns.
For which he will be awarded by the Governor on 26th January. It is noteworthy that, on October 10, 2016, a police party had gone out on an anti-Maoist operation in village Kokra Para Tumnar under Bijapur police station area. Which was being led by Mohit Garg, during the search there was indiscriminate firing on the police party by the Maoists sitting in ambush. Retaliatory action was taken during the firing. In the encounter between police and Maoists, 4 Maoists were killed. In which he used 9 mm. Success was achieved in recovering 1 piece pistol, 1 piece 312 bore pistol, 1 piece loaded gun, 1 piece muzzle loading gun. In which Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg received the President’s “Police Gallantry Medal” in the year 2019.
Let us tell you that SP Mohit Garg is a 2013 batch IPS of Chhattisgarh cadre and he is originally from Delhi. After completing his engineering studies, Shri Garg did MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. Have studied. Before selection in UPSC, he also worked in ITC for about a year. Presently Mohit Garg is posted as Superintendent of Police, Rajnandgaon. Earlier, he was posted as CSP Bilaspur, Additional Superintendent of Police Bijapur and Superintendent of Police in District Gariaband, Bijapur, Narayanpur, Kabirdham, Balrampur and Fighter 14th Corps Dhanora Balod, Fighter 19th Corps Chhasbal Jagdalpur, Fighter 16th Corps Chhasbal Narayanpur ( Has been posted on the post of Additional Charge).
