Lucknow: Samajwadi Party and Congress have formed a 10-member coordination committee, which includes five members each from both the parties, to improve mutual coordination. A senior Congress leader said, “Coordination will start from the state level and be extended to the booth level. There will be a coordination committee at the district level and each of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. There will be one leader each from both the parties in the district and Lok Sabha constituency committee. Uttar Pradesh Congress spokesperson C.P. “In addition, both parties will deploy two members each in each other’s war rooms at their respective state headquarters,” Rai said. This comes a week after Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress’ UP in-charge Avinash Pandey initiated the process of state-level coordination between the two parties for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. “Unlike the previous alliance, this time, the coordination will be formal, systematic and right up to the booth level to transfer each other’s votes to the respective candidates on each of the 80 constituencies,” a SP leader said. There will also be coordination committees for social media, other media and campaigns.
