Similipal forester killing: Forest Guards, foresters & deputy range officers to stop patrolling
Karanjia: Following the multiple cases of open fire between poachers and forest rangers, the forest guards, foresters and deputy range officers will not patrol and agitate in various forests including Shimilipal sanctuary. The gazetted forest workers of the Federation have started a movement with five demands.
However, will not stop in Shimilipal Sanctuary. Patrolling will be done by P.A. Staff, ACF, Range Office. Regional Chief Conservator of Forests and Field Director, officials informed.
Earlier, on Sunday, the locals of Jashipur in Mayurbhanj including a forest guard confronted the seniors of forest department employees are getting killed by poachers in Similipal.
The locals and the guard also went on to accuse the South-Similipal ACF of mentally harassing the forester and other forest guards.
It is pertinent to note here that a forest ranger died after being shot by poachers in the Gamuchajharan area of Simlipal range in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. Ten people have been detained in connection to a forest ranger who died after being shot by poachers. The suspected poachers will be arrested soon said senior officials. The search for the prime accused is underway. Another forester was also shot dead by some poachers in Similipal sanctuary few days before.
