Shimla: Three former MLAs Rajinder Rana, KL Thakur and Devendra Bhutto were summoned to the Bavliganj police station today in connection with the case registered in connection with the events that took place after cross voting in the Rajya Sabha elections in February this year. The three former MLAs are being questioned in connection with the case registered at the Bavliganj police station on the complaint of Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi and MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur. The Sukhu-led Congress government was on the verge of collapse after six Congress MLAs cross-voted on February 27.
The police are investigating who bore the expenses of the six rebel Congress MLAs and three independent MLAs staying in five-star hotels in Chandigarh and Rishikesh for about a month. It is also being investigated who paid the bill for the helicopters used twice to take and bring back nine MLAs after cross voting in the Rajya Sabha elections. The Congress leaders have lodged a complaint regarding horse-trading and an attempt to topple the government through unfair means. The police have already questioned the former media advisor to the Haryana Chief Minister in this matter.
