Bilaspur. The High Court has expressed strong displeasure over the water crisis in Bilaspur district, the problem of waterlogging in the city and the sanitation system. The division bench of the Chief Justice has considered the media report as a public interest litigation. In which it has also taken suo motu cognizance of the mismanagement of DKS and Ambedkar Hospital in the capital Raipur. In both the cases, the division bench has sought a reply with an affidavit from the Municipal Corporation Commissioner and the Dean of the hospital. The next hearing of the case will be on May 22.

Actually, there is a problem of drinking water in Bilaspur district in the scorching heat. The situation is that people are worried about drinking water in the entire district. The pipeline in the city is bad, due to which dirty and smelly water is reaching the houses. Water is being supplied by tankers in many localities of the city, due to which there is a situation of fighting for drinking water. At the same time, water tanks and pipelines have been laid in the villages, but water is not coming. The PHE department does not even have a list of those villages where there is a shortage of water. On the other hand, the Municipal Corporation gets the drains cleaned every year before and after the rains. It was claimed that drains are being cleaned by making a roster in all the 8 zones. The corporation says that there will be no waterlogging this time. But the reality is that many areas of the city get waterlogged during the rains. This causes a lot of trouble to people in commuting. Cleaning of big drains has not started yet.

The High Court has started hearing the news in the media regarding water crisis, waterlogging and cleanliness chaos by considering it a public interest litigation. The division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice AK Prasad has asked the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to submit a reply with an affidavit before the next hearing in the case.

The High Court has also taken cognizance of the chaos in DKS Hospital and Ambedkar Hospital of the capital Raipur. The High Court has considered the news that the relatives who came with the patients in the hospital are forced to live under the open sky, as a public interest litigation. According to the news, in this scorching heat, patients are living in the parking area, open space and verandah of the hospital without fans and coolers. The utility area of the hospital has been closed for many years. Due to which patients and their families are facing problems. The families accompanying the patients have to live under the open sky. Here they have to spend their days without fans and coolers. Taking cognizance of this matter, the division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Amitendra Kishore Prasad has sought an affidavit from the Dean of Ambedkar Hospital and the Superintendent of DKS Hospital.
