Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe after seizure of cash to the tune of Rs 10 Lakh from a Mercedes-Maybach car in Bhubaneswar on December 7 continues as the officials of the anti-corruption team conducted raids on the office and residences of the three arrested accused persons.
As per reports, the probe agency yet again raided the Bhubaneswar office of the Bridge and Roof Company (India) Ltd, office of the Aditya Dev Infratech Pvt Ltd and office of M/s Penta A Studio Private Limited and residence of its director – Santosh Moharana.
On the other hand, a relative of Debadutta Mohapatra, the MD of the Aditya Dev Infratech Pvt Ltd and one of the accused persons in the case, was interrogated by the anti-corruption team in Bhubaneswar today. She was there in the office for about 30 minutes but declined to make any comments to the media persons.
While conducting the raids in the four places today, the officials reportedly inspected and verified several documents of the companies to unearth more information about their suspected illegal activities.
It is to be noted here that CBI, which has taken Santosh Moharana, Debadutta Mohapatra and Chanchal Mukherjee, the Group General Manager of Bhubaneswar office of M/s Bridge and Roof Co. (India) Limited on remand in two phases, has been interrogating them for the last eight days.
The trio will be produced before the court tomorrow after completion of the remand period.
Meanwhile, Mukherjee’s lawyer Rajesh Mishra said that he would file for his bail tomorrow. Mishra met Mukherjee at the CBI office to inquiry about his health condition.
Manmohan Moharana, the father of Santosh Moharana, has been absconding ever since the CBI team seized the cash along with some gold ornament on December 7.
