In Haryana also, using the powers under Section 144, all PGs, guest houses, hotels, landlords have been asked to take precautions against their tenants, servants, visitors and guests to maintain peace and law and order, keeping in mind every security aspect. Orders have been given to keep records along with their ID proof.

Also, any unknown person without ID proof will be prohibited from using the rooms in these establishments. According to the order issued, CCTV surveillance cameras should be installed at the reception of all hotels and dharamshalas, in which recording for 60 days can be possible. In the order issued by the District Magistrate, it has been said that it will be mandatory for all hotel owners to identify the visitors through their valid photo identity card, voter card, ration card, driving license, passport.

The orders issued by the District Magistrate under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Act will come into effect with immediate effect in Jhajjar district and will remain in force for the next two months. The purpose of imposing Section 144 by the administration is to stop any kind of wrong activities and sudden untoward incidents by anti-social elements. He said that in view of security, these guidelines have been issued using the powers under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973. Violation of the order will be a punishable offense under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
