Scorpio wreaks havoc in Bilaspur, several vehicles damaged in the collision.

Bilaspur. The 27 Kholi Main Road in the city was suddenly shaken by loud explosions. Jayant Joshi, a resident of Parijat Castle, Ring Road-2, and a former police department security guard, was driving his Scorpio (CG 10CB 8777) at such a high speed while intoxicated that the entire area was gripped by fear.

At around 1:30 AM, he returned from Janjgir-Champa and immediately sped onto the road. Losing control, he first collided violently with a motorcycle. The vehicle did not stop after the initial accident. The out-of-control Scorpio continued forward, hitting and severely damaging three other cars. A short distance further, the vehicle crashed directly into the main door and wall of a house, causing significant damage to the building.

Hearing the commotion, people came out of their houses and discovered that the driver was intoxicated and the car was traveling at a speed of 160 km/h. According to Civil Line TI S.R. Sahu, the Scorpio’s speedometer needle was still stuck at 160 after the accident. Three cars, a Pulsar motorcycle, and the Scorpio itself were completely wrecked in the accident. Two people in the car sustained minor injuries. Upon the arrival of the police, who were alerted by the crowd that had gathered, the Scorpio was seized and the accused was taken into custody. A medical examination confirmed that he had consumed alcohol, and action was taken against him under BNS Section 281 and MV Act 184, 185.
