Sangareddy: Cases of rape, murder, kidnapping increased

Sangareddy: The number of cases of rape, murder and kidnapping has increased in 2023 compared to last year. District SP CH Rupesh published the annual crime report of 2023 during a press conference on Thursday. According to the information, 90 cases of violations were registered in the district during the year, while 77 and 59 cases of violations were registered in 2022 and 2021 respectively. Sangareddy has recorded 48 cases of kidnapping, while 30 and 23 cases have been recorded in 2022 and 2021 respectively. The number of murder cases reported in the district also increased from 41 in 2022 to 47 in 2023. The number of cyber crime cases also increased from 217 to 323 last year. Cases reported during election campaign increased: According to the annual report on crimes, the number of election-related cases reported ahead of the 2023 elections has increased manifold compared to the 2018 elections. Sangareddy police registered 535 cases related to elections in 2023 compared to 33 in 2018. In which a huge increase of 1.521 percent was recorded. The effective liquor seized during the election campaign increased to Rs 3,31 million in 2023, compared to only Rs 1,35 million in 2018. The liquor seized during the 2023 election season was 7.485 litres, while the total liquor seized was 358 litres. In which an increase of 1.983 percent was recorded in 2018. While the police will seize 7 kg of gold jewelery in the 2023 elections, they will seize 3.5 kg of gold jewellery. Police seized 1,395 sarees worth Rs 41.85 lakh in 2023.
