Rice crop destroyed due to elephant attack

The terror of elephants continues in Korba and Raigarh districts. The presence of elephants in the forests of Podi-Uporda block of Katghora Forest Division has created panic among the villagers. At the same time, there is a presence of a group of 120 elephants in Raigarh district. This entire group is destroying crops in different ranges of Dharamjaigarh Forest Division. In the district, crops have been trampled in 173 fields in 3 districts. Cubs are also included in these groups. Elephants have also damaged 2 houses.

In Korba, the villagers are trying to save their crops by making noise, blowing whistles, bursting crackers and trying to drive away the elephants. During this time, elephants become aggressive, which poses a threat to the lives of the villagers. A group of 39 elephants is roaming in Katghora Forest Division. Moti Ram Khairwar (30), a resident of Khairwar Para in Podi Khurd Gram Panchayat, broke his right leg while trying to protect his crops from an elephant in the morning.
