Revati Nakshatra: Religious fervour at consecration of unique idol On an auspicious occasion of Revati Nakshatra, the Sri Bhoo Varahanatha Swamy temple at Kattahalli in Karnataka was decked up and special consecration was performed with utmost pomp and fervour. The temple environment resonated with chants as devotees actively participated in the rituals and puja. Krishnaraja Pete, colloquially known as KR Pete, is a municipality and taluk in Mandya district of Karnataka. On the occasion of Revati Nakshatra, a special puja was conducted here for Sri Lakshmi Varaha Swamy along with Sri Bhoo Devi. Sri Suvidhendra Teertha Maha Swamiji of the Ministry was also present at the temple. Devotees and followers of the spiritual leader thronged the temple to participate in the puja rituals. There is a unique 17-feet tall idol or monolith of Sri Bhoo Varahanatha Swamy carved out of a single piece of Shaligram stone.

This stone idol was anointed with holy water from the Ganges, thousands of liters of milk, 500 liters of coconut water and sugarcane juice, ghee, honey and curd. Apart from this, sandalwood and turmeric paste was also applied on the idol and then the Lord was worshipped. 58 types of flowers including jasmine, tuberose rose, champa, parijat, chrysanthemum, basil, rose and lotus were offered for the anointment of the Lord in the puja. Devotees worshiped the Lord with full dedication and prayed for happiness and good health. According to the scriptures, Sri Bhoo Varahanatha Swamy is considered to be the deity who resolves land disputes. He is also known to fulfill the wishes of devotees who please him with their unwavering devotion. Apart from this, devotees also pray to him in the hope of having their own house one day. To save Bhoo Devi from a demon, Lord Vishnu took the Varaha avatar, and brought her back to her proper place. This auspicious time is Revati Nakshatra.
