Jaipur (IANS) | A record of rain has been created in Rajasthan due to Biparjoy cyclone. According to meteorological department officials, due to cyclone Biparjoy, Rajasthan received 92.09 mm of rain against the average of 28.74 mm, which is more than 220 per cent. Torrential rains caused by Biparjoy cyclone caused floods in Barmer, Jodhpur, Pali, Sirehi and Jalore districts. Whereas, Ajmer witnessed floods along with record heavy rains.
Officials said several rivers and dams were in spate. A total of 19 districts have received heavy to very heavy rainfall. According to the department, heavy rains will start reducing from Wednesday. Along with this, light rain is forecast at isolated places in the eastern districts.
It is said that due to Biparjoy, the rain quota till July has been completed in Rajasthan. Sowing and plowing have started before the onset of monsoon.
The department estimates that this year the monsoon will be delayed and will be weaker than normal. But, Biparjoy has drenched the districts from west to east in Rajasthan with rain.
Please tell that the speed of the cyclone in Gujarat was 125-150 km per hour. When the cyclone crossed the Kutch region and entered Rajasthan, it turned into a deep depression. Due to lack of moisture in the cyclone at the lower level in Rajasthan, it rained heavily as soon as the low pressure area was formed.
