Raipur. Sale of non-veg has been banned in Raipur on Thursday on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti. An order has been issued to keep all meat shops closed. The Urban Administration and Development Department has directed the officials of Raipur Corporation. Legal action will also be taken if the shops are open.
The Health Department of the Corporation has issued an order to keep slaughter houses and all meat selling shops closed on 23rd May on Buddha Jayanti. If any shop is found selling meat, seizure and action will be taken.
A public holiday has been declared on 23 May on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti. All government offices along with semi-government offices will remain closed on Thursday as a public holiday. Along with this, banks will also remain closed in Chhattisgarh. Tomorrow on Buddha Jayanti, all the zone health officers of Raipur Municipal Corporation will inspect different areas of the city to ban the sale of meat. If meat is found being sold in the shop, legal action will be taken along with confiscation of meat.
