On the instructions of Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh, Raipur Police is running a special campaign against drugs, in which all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police, station in-charges including the in-charge anti-crime and cyber unit have been given necessary instructions to trace the drug dealers and take action and effectively curb it. On which all the police gazetted officers, station in-charges and the team of Anti
Crime and Cyber Unit are collecting information about the drug dealers by deploying informers, patrolling and collecting information. In this connection, on 25.02.25, the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit received information that a person near Karma Chowk in Kamal Vihar under Police Station Tikrapara area has kept banned intoxicating syrup with him and is trying to go somewhere.
On which Additional Superintendent of Police West D.R.Porte, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Sandeep Mittal, City Superintendent of Police Purani Basti Rajesh Dewangan and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Sanjay Singh directed the in-charge Anti Crime and Cyber Unit Police Station in-charge Tikrapara to catch the accused red handed with the syrup. Under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Police Station Tikrapara went to the said place and after tracing and identifying the person of the description given by the informer, he was caught. During interrogation, the person told his name to be Moin alias Rocky, resident of Tikrapara Raipur. When the team members searched the sack kept with him, banned intoxicating syrup codeine was found in the sack, on which Moin alias Rocky was asked for valid documents regarding keeping and transporting the said banned intoxicating syrup, he was continuously trying to mislead the team members by not presenting any document of any kind. On which the accused Moin alias Rocky was arrested and a total of 70 vials of banned narcotic syrup Codeine having retail value of approximately Rs. 28,000/- were seized from his possession and a case number 155/25 under section 21(c) of the Narcotics Act was registered against the accused at Tikrapara police station and action was taken against the accused.
