Punjab: Gang of robbers busted, 4 arrested
Punjab: Police have arrested four men who carried out looting in the city. The suspects have been identified as Manveer Singh alias Monu, Karanpreet Singh alias Karan, Tarlok Singh alias Hero and Ajay Thakur. Police have recovered Rs 2 lakh cash and other looted items from them. According to available information, a case was registered under Sections 304, 317 (2) and 61 (2) of the Indian Justice Code at Division Number 6 police station on the complaint of Vinod Kumar, a resident of Ghah Mandi.
The complainant, who works at a petrol pump, said he was returning home from work when assailants armed with sharp-edged weapons robbed his Activa scooter and Rs 2.22 lakh in cash. The police identified the suspects during investigation with technical assistance and human intelligence. Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said all four suspects have been arrested. He said that apart from the stolen Activa and cash, police have also recovered two other stolen vehicles from the suspects. He said that this gang has been involved in many such incidents.
