Punjab: Five members of the same family injured in a high-speed car collision

Punjab: Five of a family were injured when a speeding car hit a tempo here today. The occupants of the tempo were bringing their daughter-in-law to the maternity ward at the Civil Hospital here for delivery.

Dhinganwali resident Rajinder Kumar (60), undergoing treatment in the hospital, said that they were bringing their daughter-in-law Priya to the hospital on a tempo that he was driving. His wife Meena Devi and second daughter-in-law Kanta and son Ravi were also traveling in the same vehicle. When the tempo reached near Sayeed Wala village, a speeding car going towards Sriganganagar hit the tempo, injuring all of them. Some people standing nearby immediately took them to the hospital.

Doctors said Rajinder suffered more injuries than others. His daughter-in-law Priya has been admitted to the maternity ward. The car driver managed to flee from the spot.
