Punjab: A gharial, which was recently spotted near Dhola Kingra village, was rescued on Thursday. Private diver and wildlife expert Pargat Singh Sandhu caught the gharial, who was called in by villagers. Locals are on edge after gharials were spotted in Lalbai Minor in the past few days.
Villager Kanwarpal Singh said, “Many people from the village spotted the gharial last week and some of us even made videos of it. We first approached forest department officials, but when they did not show any interest, we called Pargat Singh Sandhu from Haryana.”
