Baloda Bazar. The police have arrested 15 gamblers by raiding the forest of the district. 1 lakh 6 thousand cash, playing cards, 11 bikes and 15 mobiles have been seized from the gamblers. Action has been taken against all under the Gambling Act. The case is of Rajadeori police station area. SSP Deepak Kumar Jha had received information that a large number of gamblers were gambling near village Golajhar Jharia Dam under Rajadeori police station area. On the information received from the informer, a special team was formed, in which police line, cyber cell and Giroudhpuri outpost in-charge Naveen Shukla were included. Thereafter, 15 accused who were gambling inside the forest near the dam were arrested. The arrested accused are residents of Balodabazar, Bilaigarh-Sarangarh and Mahasamund.
The accused were gambling here for a long time. The villagers got suspicious seeing so many people going to the forest everyday on bikes from different routes. When the villagers secretly went to the spot and saw, it was found that all the accused were gambling near the village Golajhar Jharia dam by parking the bike away, after which the police was informed.
Gambling and feeding people are very cunning, who keep their informers on the way to the village to keep watch. Gamblers’ informers keep an eye on the routes from a distance of 2 kilometers, so that they can give information immediately on the arrival of police or unknown people. But this time the police had made complete preparations to catch the gambling racket. The police neither used the common route nor went to raid in uniform.
The policemen walked a distance of about 5 kilometers by taking the path of an unknown trail in the forest. They surrounded the gamblers from different directions, leaving no one a chance to escape. 15 gamblers were arrested from here. The names of the accused are Parmanand, Badriprasad Tandon, Bihari Lahre, Virendra Kumar, Sukhlal Lahre, Dinesh, Devraj, Brijlal, Nirakar, Dayasagar, Dev Prasad, Gwal Yadav, Kulesh Kumar, Rameshwar Patel, Rakesh Kumar Bhardwaj.
