The state government is preparing to take forward the promotion process of about 70 thousand teachers. Teachers who have been waiting for promotion for the last 10 years are expected to get the benefit before Diwali. On behalf of the Basic Education Council, instructions have been given to the Basic Education Officers of all the districts to prepare the seniority list.
A large number of teachers in council schools have been demanding promotion for a long time. In many districts, there was resentment among teachers due to the promotion process being pending for years. Now, following the instructions of the Basic Education Council, the process of preparing seniority list in the districts is likely to be speeded up. After the seniority list is prepared, eligible teachers will be identified and promotion action will be taken forward as per the prescribed procedure.
According to the information, about 70 thousand teachers working in primary and upper primary schools of the state can get the benefit of this process. Basic Education Council has instructed BSAs of all the districts to update the records of teachers working in their respective districts and prepare seniority list.
