Police officials said that the body of Sannu Usendi (30) was recovered on Sunday night at Batumpara Chowk in Orchha village of the district.

They said that according to preliminary information, on Friday (28 June), Naxalites kidnapped Usendi from a local market in Kutul village near Kohkameta, about 40 km from Narayanpur district headquarters. Officials said that the Naxalites suspected that Usendi was a police informer, due to which they killed him and later threw the body in Orchha, about 20 km from Kutul. He said that after receiving information about his death, a police team was dispatched to the spot and the body was recovered and sent for post-mortem. Police officials said that a search operation has been started in the area to trace the attackers.
