Raipur. The way has been cleared to bring Mahadev Satta App promoter Ravi Uppal from Dubai to India. ED had applied in the Special Court of Raipur, which has been accepted. After this, a request letter has been issued to the Dubai Court under extradition. At present this letter will be sent to the UAE Embassy through the Government of India. After this further action will start. ED had issued a Red Corner Notice against Ravi Uppal through Interpol. After this he was arrested 30 days ago in Dubai.
ED lawyer Saurabh Pandey said that the action has been completed in the case of bringing Ravi Uppal, co-founder of Mahadev online betting app, from United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Chhattisgarh. UAE documents will be sent through the Ministry of External Affairs of India. Ravi Uppal is wanted in India.
ED is investigating Mahadev App in the money laundering case. Apart from this, Chhattisgarh Police and Mumbai Police are also involved in the investigation. The ED had filed a charge sheet against Uppal and his partner Saurabh Chandrakar before the PMLA court in Raipur in October. Just two months ago, ED had raided 39 locations in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bhopal and seized assets worth Rs 417 crore. Ravi Uppal was living in UAE with his partner Saurabh Chandrakar. Just a month ago, the Central Government had blocked 22 apps and websites including Mahadev App.
In 2017, Ravi and Saurabh together created a website to earn money through online betting. However, initially this website had less users. Saurabh went to Dubai for job in 2019. After some time, Saurabh also called his friend Ravi Utpal to Dubai. Before Ravi reached Dubai, Saurabh had prepared a complete plan to earn money through betting website. After this both of them created a betting website and app by the name of Mahadev Book Online. Started promoting it through social media and other means.
