Police took major action, arrested Ganja smugglers

Bhilai. Khursipar police arrested Ganja smugglers while taking major action. A car containing 50 kg of narcotics was recovered from the possession of the accused. The accused used to bring ganja from Odisha and consume it in other cities including Nagpur. Khursipar police has taken action against the accused under the NDPS Act. It was reported from the informer that the white colored car from Odisha coming from Kumhari towards Durg contained the intoxicant ganja. Whose information was given to senior officers.

Wirelessly through control room Bhilai, all the police stations of GE Road were given blockade points. Station House Officers of Police Station Kumhari, Old Bhilai, Khursipar Cantonment Supela have set blockade points in their respective areas. Preparations were made to stop the car coming from Odisha by placing jick, jack stopper tires under the Dabrapara bridge under construction. Shortly after a high speed car was seen coming. As soon as the police stopped the car, the driver accelerated and cut Hit and blew the stopper. But as soon as it hit the second stopper, the vehicle made a complete turn and came to a halt.

The vehicle was searched after getting the driver down. On opening the trunk, the police found ganja in two sacks. Which was kept in a packet of one kg each. Including both the sacks, a total of 50 kg ganja was found in different 50 packets. The estimated cost has been pegged at Rs 5 lakh. After this, the police arrested Bhola Sahu and woman Mamta Dubey, a resident of Odisha, who were riding in the car. Both have not given any information about the cannabis to the police.
