Bihar. Police in Muzaffarpur district have arrested the headmaster of a government school who was allegedly going to hoist the national flag in an inebriated state on Republic Day. Police gave this information. Police said that the arrested headmaster Sanjay Kumar Singh is working in the Government Middle School of Dharampur East in Meenapur area.
When the headmaster reached the school in an inebriated state, the local people informed Meenapur MLA Munna Yadav, who brought the matter to the notice of the police. Rampurhari police station in-charge Sujit Kumar told reporters, “A complaint was received that the headmaster had reached the school in an inebriated state to hoist the national flag. A police team immediately reached the spot to investigate the matter. The ‘breath analyzer test’ also confirmed that he was drunk. The police arrested him.”
Before his arrest, the headmaster told reporters that he was in dire financial straits and claimed he had not received his salary for the past five months. The Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government had imposed a complete ban on the sale and consumption of liquor on April 5, 2016.
