Police got big success, seized 150 kg of ganja

Jagdalpur. Bastar police has got great success in a case of ganja smuggling. In the Dhanpunji area near the Orissa border, the police have seized 150 kg of marijuana while smuggling. The case pertains to Nagarnar police station area, where police had received information about smuggling of marijuana in Dhanpunji area adjoining Orissa, after which the police team tried to stop the vehicle reaching Dhanpunji area.

Seeing the police, the accused took advantage of the jungle bushes and left his vehicle and ran towards the forest. The vehicle was checked by the police team. In goods vehicle number MH-27-BX-1864, about 150 kg of ganja was seized in gunny bags between the carats of vegetables. The value of the hemp has been estimated at Rs 15 lakh. A case has been registered against the accused driver under the NDPS Act. At present, the police is trying to find the absconding driver accused.
