Andhra: Roundtable on inclusive education concludes

Vijayawada: The two-day roundtable on ‘Realising Inclusive Education from School to University’, jointly organised by Sri Aurobindo Society and Andhra Loyola College with the support of Malladi Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, concluded on Thursday with a roadmap to strengthen inclusive education from early childhood to higher education and employment.

Chief guest MLA Sundarapu Vijaya Sreekumar and chairman of the Andhra Legislative Assembly Welfare Committee for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to inclusive education. He said the establishment of 125 Autism Support Centres in Government schools this year reflects Andhra Pradesh’s resolve to make inclusive education a reality from Anganwadi to University.

Speaking on behalf of the industry partner, Anthony Thiagarajan, Vice President & Head–HR, Malladi Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Chennai, said, “Inclusive education is not only a social responsibility but an investment in the future of children, families, and communities.” The valedictory programme featured addresses by CHRO and Chief Programme Officer of Sri Aurobindo Society, Dr Simmi Mahajan, Aashna Kaur, correspondent of ALC Fr Dr NA Francis Xavier and GM – Employee relations of ITC ltd Pawan Kumar culminating in the adoption of a practical roadmap for advancing inclusive education across Andhra Pradesh.
