Mahasamund. The Lok Sabha-level MP Sports Festival, held at the Forest Sports Complex in Mahasamund, concluded today at 11 AM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually joined the event and interacted with the players, encouraging them. The Prime Minister praised the players’ hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship, stating that sports are a strong foundation for the all-round development of youth and the creation of a healthy India.
In his address, Backward Classes Commission Chairman Nehru Nishad said that the MP Sports Festival is being organized across the country under the guidance of the Prime Minister. This festival is being held at three levels, bringing to light many talents from villages and cities. He said that today, December 25th, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Atal Bihari Vajpayee is being celebrated as Good Governance Day.
District Cooperative Bank Chairman Niranjan Sinha said that initially, there was a misconception among people about how such a sports event would be organized, but the MP Sports Festival has dispelled all doubts and achieved unprecedented success. Organizing sports from the village level to the parliamentary constituency level signifies widespread public participation. This event provides an opportunity to learn, play, and progress. The event conveyed the message of social harmony, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle through sports. Food Commission Chairman Sandeep Sharma said that sports are essential for a healthy body. The MP Sports Festival is an excellent platform to make children and youth physically strong. He said that today is the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who created the state of Chhattisgarh. Today, the country and the state are rapidly moving towards development and progressing towards a developed India. He also remembered today as Veer Bal Diwas (Valiant Children’s Day) and extended his best wishes to all the players.
