Rajnandgaon. The police took action by arresting three accused red-handed for selling ganja in Gandai area. Police seized 400 grams of ganja worth Rs 1500 from the accused. The police took action against the three accused under 20(b) NDPS Act and sent them on remand. According to the police, information was received from the informer that three persons were coming towards Gandai from Kawardha side, sitting in a modified white tankless motorcycle and keeping ganja in a black colored bag. If there is delay, there is a possibility of the goods being destroyed by the said persons.
On receiving the information, police station staff and witnesses along with them reached the main road near village Devpura Chowk and set up a blockade. During the blockade, three persons were found coming from Kawardha on a white tank-like motorcycle with no number, who were stopped and interrogated. When asked about their names and addresses, the motorcyclist revealed his name as Mirza Inquilab alias Rinku Gandai, the person sitting in the middle revealed his name as Aman Khan Gandai and the person sitting at the back revealed his name as Arjun Patle Gandai. Searched all three persons.
During the search, about 400 grams of ganja worth Rs 1500 was found in a membrane inside a black bag. Since the accused did not have any valid documents regarding transportation of intoxicant and ganja, 400 grams of ganja and the motorcycle used in the incident were recovered, seized and brought to the police station and the act of the accused was a punishable offense under Section 20(b) of the NDPS Act. Due to this, he has been duly arrested and sent on judicial remand. On the basis of detailed interrogation of the accused, separate action is being taken against other people involved in buying and selling of intoxicating substance Ganja in the police station area.
