Raipur. Two smugglers have been arrested with banned drug opium. The team of Narcotics Cell formed under Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that two persons were keeping the narcotic drug opium under the water tank located at Hirapur Bazaar Chowk under Kabir Nagar police station area and were selling it.
On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Kabir Nagar police station and Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit went to the said place, identified the persons of the same description as described by the informer, identified them and arrested them. During interrogation, the persons revealed their names to be Gajan alias Gajendra Singh and Amarjeet Singh.
When the team members searched him, he was found to be in possession of the banned drug opium. On which both the accused were arrested and about 140 grams of banned drug opium and sale amount of Jumla valued at about Rs 50,000/- were seized from their possession and crime number 80/2024 under Section 18, 29 Narcotic Act was registered against the accused in Police Station Kabir Nagar. Tax action was taken.
