The Odisha government is mulling to expand the 5C concept in more schools in 2024.
The decision was taken after a School and Mass Education department meeting chaired by its Secretary S Aswathy on Tuesday.
It is pertinent to mention here that 5C is not a new scheme. It is a concept under the Mo School Abhiyan launched by the Odisha government in 2017.
Many schools are already running under the Abhiyan while more schools will be brought under its ambit next year, as per reports.
Speaking on the initiative, Aswathy said, “5C is an integral part of the Mo School Abhiyan. Through ‘Connect’, we aim to connect the alumni with the students. Similarly, by Collaboration, we aim to bring all the stake holders together who can collaborate in imparting education to the students. They are creating an educational ecosystem in the State.”
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ on November 14, 2017. It is a unique initiative to bring alumni, their alma mater and the community around a government-run or a government-aided schools together.
Mo School Abhiyan rests on five pillars: Connect, Collaborate, Contribute, Create and finally, Celebrate.
As per the Mass Education department, the 5C encourages inclusion. The alumni and others interested in the betterment of government schools of Odisha participate, contribute (financially) and share their knowledge, experience and life-lessons.
