Odisha continues to experience heavy rainfall, Yellow alert issued to 14 districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alert to 14 districts of Odisha for heavy rainfall today.

The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has further mentioned that heavy rain is likely to continue in the state for the next three days.

According to the recent bulletin of the weather department, warning for very heavy rainfall (12 cm – 20 cm) has been issued to four districts including Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh and Sambalpur. Likewise, heavy rain (7 cm – 11 cm) is very likely to lash over Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.

Similarly, yellow warning has been issued to 13 districts of Odisha. These districts include Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Khurda, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

On 25 July, heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Yellow warning has been issued for heavy rain (7 cm to 11 cm) on July 26 to Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda.

Keeping the weather conditions in mind, the weather department has advised people in the yellow alert areas to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning.
