Odisha Congress begins Sankalpa Padayatra, OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das leads

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) today began the Sankalpa Padayatra from Bhubaneswar to Puri under the leadership of OPCC President Bhakta Charan Das.

The newly appointed OPCC president was accorded a rousing welcome from the party workers and leaders on his arrival at the Bhubaneswar airport in the morning. A huge number of the party leaders and workers along with traditional drums and dance had gathered at the airport.

Later, the Sankalpa Padayatra started and reached at Lingipur after passing through the Capital Chhaka, Raj Mahal Chhaka and Kalpana Chhaka. After having a break for lunch at Lingipur, the party activists headed towards Pipili, where the Sankalpa Padayatra will stop for a day.

After having a night halt at Pipili, the OPCC president and his party men will begin the Sankalpa Padayatra and have a night halt at Chandanpur. On the last day, i.e on February 20, they will reach Puri Shree Mandir, where they will seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath and his siblings.

In his reaction over the Sankalpa Padayatra, Bhakta Das said that the Congress party organized this Padayatra with the aim to bring back the pride of Odisha and bring a massive change in the State.

It is to be noted here that Das has formed a special committee for this, led by former MLA Debasis Patnaik.
