Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer, Amrit Mohan Prasad of Odisha cadre has been appointed in an additional charge as the Director General of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (DG, BCAS) for six months. In a notification issued on January 21, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions had given the letter.
IAS officer Amrit Mohan Prasad is currently holding the post of Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (DG,SSB). He has been given the additional charge of DG, BCAS.
In the letter, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet had approved the request of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and appointed Amrit Mohan Prasad in the additional charge. It will be effective for a period of six months with effect from November 1, 2024, or till joining of the regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
IAS officer Amrit Mohan Prasad is an officer of 1989 bath of Odisha cadre. He had held the position of Jail DG. In August last year he was deputed to the Centre as CRPF Special DG.
