Odisha: 14 farmers and 14 agricultural officials to visit Malaysia for agri-innovation from April 19

Bhubaneswar: Deputy CM and Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Minister K V Singhdeo inaugurated a programme to send farmers and agriculture officials to Malaysia. They will visit Malaysia from April 19 to April 26 for seven days.

According to information, the Odisha government will send 14 farmers and 14 agricultural officials to visit Malaysia. This visit has been organised by the combined efforts of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment department, water resources department. The farmers have been selected jointly by the two departments.

During the visit, the farmers and officials, will learn about agro-industries, visit Agricultural research centres, mushroom cultivation, modern methods of cultivation and sustainable farming methods. The department’s secretary Dr. Arabinda Padhee and Director of Soil Conservation and watersheds Nikhil Pavan Kalyan were also present in the programme.

The state government is aiming to double the production through this training collaboration with Malaysia. The Deputy CM advised the troupe of farmers and officials to make a report of each day’s visit. They have been directed to submit the report within three days of arriving in Odisha failing which action will be taken against them.
