Smartphone manufacturer Nothing will be introducing the Nothing (3a) series soon and the devices will offer a dedicated physical key. This physical key is likely to be called ‘Essential Key’. Upcoming Nothing Phone essential key feature will be available in Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro devices.
According to a report by smartprix, the new physical button will be used to invoke Nothing’s custom AI that is present within an app called ‘Essential Space’. Multiple functions can be used through the button.
The Essential Key will be present on the right side of the phone (3a) series and can be accessed through one-hand. The users can Press/Long-Press/Double-Tap the Essential Key and use desired function. By just pressing the button users can capture and send content directly to Essential Space. A long-press of the button can be used to record a voice note. Similarly, double tap on the button can be used to access saved content in Essential Space. While inside the native Camera app, users can single-press the Essential Key and click a picture.
Expected specifications
Nothing Phone (3a) / Nothing Phone (3a) Pro devices offer Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC on-board. Both smartphones will offer Android 15 out of the box. The display on both the devices is 6.77” LTPS AMOLED display and the refresh rate is 120Hz. The peak brightness of the display is 3000 nits and it gets Panda Glass protection. Battery capacity on the devices is 5000 mAh and full charge can be possible by 56 minutes.
When it comes to camera specifications Nothing Phone (3a)/ 3a Pro will offer 50MP primary and 8MP ultrawide sensor. The Pro variant will offer 60x digital zoom on the 50MP periscope telephoto lens while the non-Pro variant will offer 30x digital zoom on 50MP telephoto lens.
