New Delhi: As the country prepares for the 75th Republic Day, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Wednesday said metro services on all its lines will start at 4 am for the convenience of the public. Reach the duty path to witness the celebration of 26th January.
According to DMRC, train services will be available at an interval of 30 minutes till 6 am and thereafter will follow the regular timetable for the rest of the day. Additionally, those who have genuine e-invitation cards/e-tickets to attend the Republic Day celebrations will be issued coupons on showing valid photo identity cards issued by the Government at the stations, which will be available at the exit from the Central Secretariat. The only one to reach the duty path is Udyog Bhawan metro station, a DMRC statement said. It added that the same coupon will be valid only for return journey from these two stations. DMRC had earlier said that security checking of passengers by the Central Industrial Security Force has been intensified at metro stations from January 19 to January 27. Delhi Police on January 19 banned flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms including paragliders, paramotors, hang gliders, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in the national capital.
The prohibitory order has been imposed for 29 days – from January 18 to February 15 – unless it is withdrawn earlier. According to an official statement from Delhi International Airport Limited, in view of the festivities, no flights will arrive or depart from Delhi airport between 10:20 am to 12:45 pm from January 19 to January 26.
