NEW DELHI: 14 suspended MPs to return for budget session after parliamentary panel recommends

New Delhi: Fourteen opposition MPs, who were suspended during the last session and their case referred to privilege committees, will return to participate in the budget session of Parliament, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said after the Speakers of both the Houses The government’s request has been agreed to. this effect.

Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha committees had recommended that his suspension be withdrawn after expressing regret for his conduct during the winter session, when his frequent protests prompted the Speakers to take action.

While a total of 146 opposition MPs, 100 in the Lok Sabha and the rest in the Rajya Sabha, were suspended for bringing placards to the House and repeatedly disrupting parliamentary proceedings, the violations of these 14 were considered more serious.
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha together had suspended 132 MPs for the remaining period of the winter session that ended on December 21 and referred the case of these 14 MPs to the respective Privileges Committee.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Joshi told reporters on Tuesday, “Everyone’s suspension will be withdrawn. On behalf of the government, we have requested the Assembly Speaker and the Speaker and they have agreed.”

However, he stressed that leaders of various parties attending the all-party meeting before the session had been told that they should abide by the decision that MPs should not carry any placards or similar material inside the chamber during the session. Should not be brought otherwise the Speaker will be forced to take action. The budget session will start from Wednesday.
