Minor girl rescued from clutches of human traffickers

Bahraich. Border Security Force (SSB) personnel saved a minor girl from the clutches of human smugglers in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. SSB has arrested two Nepalese human traffickers who were going to sell the girl. The rescued girl is also Nepali. Now further action is being taken in this matter. While giving information in this case on Thursday, Border Security Force (SSB) officials said that two members of the human trafficking gang have been arrested and a 17-year-old Nepali girl has been rescued. Both smugglers wanted to sell the girl. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Deputy Commander Dilip Kumar told PTI that on Wednesday, troops deployed at Rupaidiha check post bordering Nepal in Bahraich district arrested two Nepalese nationals, Shashiram Khatri and Surendra Khatri, when they Both were taking a girl along on a motorcycle.

Deputy Commander Dilip Kumar further said that the SSB jawans became suspicious after seeing three people together on a motorcycle. So the soldiers stopped him and interrogated him. When the anti-human trafficking unit of SSB and an NGO interrogated the victim, she told that she had come in contact with Shashiram Khatri through Facebook a year ago. The SSB officer said that Shashiram has revealed that he, along with Surendra, had lured the victim with the promise of making her life better and seduced her on the pretext of giving her money. The girl had become engrossed in their conversation. Now both of them were taking it to Shimla to sell. Dilip Kumar said that the NGO has contacted Nepal Police on the border and described the case as a case of suspected human trafficking. After this, SSB handed over both the accused and the victim to Nepal Police.
