Martyr Umesh Kumar Sahu given final farewell with tearful eyes

Bhilai. Lance Havildar Umesh Kumar Sahu, a resident of Kodia village of Durg Rural Assembly constituency and a brave soldier of 19 Mahar Regiment of Indian Army, was martyred on 19 October while protecting Mother India in the snowy mountainous region of Leh-Ladakh. His body was brought to his native village Kodia in Durg district on Monday.

On this occasion, a rally was taken out from Durg to Korea to pay tribute to his sacrifice. In this rally, the youth were riding on bikes in front and behind the army vehicle carrying the martyr’s body and paying tribute and raising slogans in honor of the brave soldier.

On reaching the village, relatives of martyr Umesh, villagers and public representatives paid tribute to him. During this, the martyr was given a final farewell with tearful eyes. He was cremated with military honors. The Collector and Superintendent of Police also paid tribute by offering a wreath.
