Ather to launch battery subscription for its users very soon in India, know details about it

Ather Energy has emerged has one of the popular two-wheeler ev manufacturer in India. The company is set to launch battery subscription for its scooter models in India. In this way the manufacturer will be able to be more competitive with its rivals like TVS, Bajaj as well as Ola Electric.

The Chief Business Officer Ravneet Phokela confirmed about the development, mentioned Autocar India in its report. With the introduction of battery subscription or Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), the electric vehicles will be more affordable. Under this subscription, the buyers have to pay on the basis of per kilometre driven. This brings the costs of elective vehicle by 30-40 percent.

Hero MotoCorp-which is the largest shareholder of Ather Energy, has already announced that the BaaS model will be introduced in the upcoming Vida VX2 from July 1. Ather is also planning to introduce BaaS as a part of its expansion strategy.

The two-wheeler manufacturer has announced an expansion of its retail footprint to more than 750 stores by year-end. Currently, the automaker has around 350 stores.

The company will also showcase new ‘EL’ platform and concept at an event in August. Ather also plans to launch next-generation fast chargers along with upgraded version of its software stock.

Currently, the Rizta scooters cost Rs 1.1 lakh while the flagship 450 model is priced between Rs 1.2-1.9 lakh.
