Man killed brutally in Ganjam District, probe underway

Ganjam: In a cold-blooded murder, a man was allegedly brutally killed in Raibandh village under Badagada police station in Ganjam district.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Damburu Swain. He was working as a daily wage labourer in Surat. The exact reason behind the man being killed is yet to be ascertained.

According to information, he had come to his village in Raibandh few days ago for his daughter’s marriage. On investigation it was found that Bainath Swain son of Shankar Swain of the same village had threatened to kill him. Bainath had sent him an SMS on his phone and threatened to kill him.

He had lodged a complaint in the police station in this regard. Police intervened and solved the matter. However, three days ago Shankar had quarrelled and abused him said his family members. Damburu had gone to take bath on Saturday evening and did not return home after that. Police seized the body and sent it for post mortem.
