Balasore: A man attempted to kill his wife at the Railway Station in Balasore district of Odisha on Thursday. The incident took place near the ticket counter today at the Balasore Railway Station.
As per reports, a divorce case is pending in the Balasore family court in this regard. Ritanjali Malik of Talpada area of Balasore district married Bharat Malik of Purastampur area. However, after the marriage, Bharat allegedly drank too much alcohol and beat her up, for which dispute started between the man and his wife.
After the dispute, Ritanjali was working in a private institution in Delhi. She had come to Balasore for the divorce case. Ritanjali works in Delhi and fighting the case. Her family members have alleged that her husband tortures their daughter.
Meanwhile, Ritanjali’s husband Bharat had some necessary papers with him. He came to Balasore Railway station to return the documents to the wife. Today, at 12:40 pm, seeing Ritanjali alone, he allegedly attacked his wife with a sharp weapon at the ticket counter.
Ritanjali was trying to save herself, but the sharp weapon caused deep wounds on both her palms and her fingers.
While the husband fled from the scene after the attack, a PCR van reached the scene and shifted the injured woman to Balasore District Headquarter hospital for treatment. The accused husband is yet to be nabbed.
